Meet
MAX
Meet Max Castagna, a true wine lover with a passion for sharing his knowledge and expertise in the phenomenal wine world. How did it all start? At the age of 60/61 max retired from the CEO position at Samsung Malta and found himself helping his wife with groceries and cooking which after a couple of weeks was declared out of bounce by his wife. Finding himself with lots of time on his hands.
Behind every great man, there is a great woman, Mary Castagna was instrumental in helping Max develop a boutique wine importing company. Their dedication, connections and love for wine become the perfect recipe named Casa Vini.
Today, 15 years later he left a legacy of a growing company with now over 15 brands and a strong presence in some of Malta’s top restaurants pleasing their patrons with his premium Italian selection. This is when he decided to not be in any retail stores to continue enhancing the exclusivity for the HORECA trade and home consumers.
Started as a hobby, it became his legacy. As a passion turned into a business and now employing over than 5 people and pleasing hundreds of clients around Malta and Gozo.

Our mission is to continuously find producers who offer premium quality and affordable wines. Today, we are proud to say that Casa Vini has acquired a vast selection of below the radar wines from all over Italy.
We care deeply about the wines we sell, how they are made, each individual producer who make them, and the environmental stewardship that will allow us to represent them for generations to come.

Vision
Casa Vini is a Maltese based importer and distributor of Italian wines. The project took form in 2009 by Max and grew to a small team of passionate and entrepreneurial spirit with the desire to enjoy their continued careers in the wine industry. The team is fully dedicated with both body and soul to continue Max’s dream.
Meet
Martin
Martin Borg joined Casa Vini in March 2019, having previously worked in the wines and spirits industry. Outside of looking after restaurants in Malta, Martin enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, and enjoying a full-bodied red wine while watching a good movie.. sometimes at the same time.
